Estimates and pricing
The main factors are the size of the area, the condition of the surfaces, how much repair and preparation is needed, the number of coats and how complex the trim or access is. A room with fresh drywall and simple trim costs less than one with cracks, wallpaper residue and detailed millwork.
We can talk through your project by phone and give a sense of what is involved, but an accurate price depends on seeing the surfaces. A short visit lets us write an estimate you can rely on.
Each estimate lists the rooms or surfaces, the preparation steps, the number of coats, any repairs we noted and an expected timeline. If something is not included, it will say so.
Scheduling
For interior work, a few weeks is usually enough. Exterior projects for late spring and summer fill up earlier, so we recommend reaching out in late winter or early spring.
We reschedule rather than paint on wet surfaces or before a storm. Interior tasks or prep work can sometimes fill the gap, and we keep you informed about the new plan.
Yes. Our crews work Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, which helps homeowners who prefer projects to happen partly on the weekend.
Interior painting
Yes. Small projects like an accent wall, one bedroom or a hallway are welcome, and they are a good way to see how we work before planning something larger.
We do. Tall foyers, cathedral ceilings and stairwells are handled with the right ladders and planks so the work is safe and the finish is even.
Modern interior paints have far less odor than older products, and low-odor options are available. We recommend keeping pets out of rooms while paint is wet and ventilating the space.
Exterior painting
Yes. Siding and trim are cleaned to remove dirt, mildew and chalky residue so the new paint can bond. The cleaning method depends on the type of siding and its condition.
Absolutely. Front doors, shutters, railings and trim refreshes are popular smaller exterior projects and can make a big difference to curb appeal.
Repainting helps only when the loose paint is fully removed and the surface is prepared. Porches take heavy wear and moisture, so we scrape, sand and prime before applying a coating suited to floors and steps.
Drywall repair
Often yes. If you have leftover paint in the same color and sheen, we can touch up the repaired area. For a truly seamless result, painting the full wall is usually best.
Yes. Many homes in the area have original plaster, and we repair cracks, holes and loose areas using methods suited to plaster rather than treating it like drywall.
First find and fix the source of the water, whether it is a roof, plumbing or condensation issue. Once the area is dry, we can repair any damaged drywall, seal the stain and repaint.
Wallpaper
Yes. Borders are often easier to remove than full walls, though the adhesive behind them still needs to be washed off before the wall is primed and painted.
Look at an edge near an outlet cover or a torn corner, where layers are often visible. We also check during the estimate with a small test area.
Yes. We install wallpaper that clients purchase themselves. Share the product details before ordering and we can help confirm the quantity and the right primer.
Colors and materials
Usually yes. If the original can has a brand and color code, we can use it directly. Otherwise a paint store can color-match a chip, and we test the match on the wall before painting.
We normally supply the primers and paints as part of the estimate, which lets us choose products suited to each surface. If you already have paint or a preferred brand, let us know.
Keep cans tightly sealed in a place that does not freeze or get very hot, like a basement shelf. Label each can with the room, color and sheen so touch-ups are easy.
